Ballot Backstory: Сан-Франциско и Калифорния объясняет каждую меру в бюллетене вместе с её историей, деньгами и сторонниками на семи языках. Вот как создаются и проверяются страницы.
Что мы публикуем
По одной странице на каждую меру: что делает голос ЗА и голос ПРОТИВ, почему мера вынесена на голосование сейчас, о каких деньгах идёт речь, кто вынес её на голосование, кто её поддерживает, кто финансирует каждую сторону, и самые сильные доводы за и против. Для семи из этих мер есть также хронология предшествующих решений и сведения о том, что обещали и что выполнили прежние меры, вынесенные на голосование.
Как пишется каждая страница
Мы опираемся на первоисточники: официальные руководства для избирателей, финансовые оценки Контролёра и Законодательного аналитика, текст закона, финансовые отчёты кампаний и опубликованные списки поддержки. Модель ИИ пишет каждую страницу только на основе этих источников, и у каждого предложения есть ссылка на подтверждающий его источник.
Автоматические проверки
Никто из людей не проверяет и не редактирует страницы перед публикацией. Вместо этого каждая страница должна пройти эти автоматические проверки. В последнем столбце указано, сколько опубликованных страниц прошли каждую из них.

Перекрёстная проверка моделью другой компании на этих выборах не проводилась, поэтому выше она отмечена как пропущенная.
Как мы сохраняем нейтральность
Мы никогда не даём рекомендаций, как голосовать. Мы приводим самый сильный довод каждой стороны так, как его формулируют её сторонники. Для ЗА и ПРОТИВ используются цвета без партийного или оценочного значения, а оба овала на наших страницах всегда остаются пустыми.
Как мы размещаем меры, вынесенные на голосование, на шкале коалиций
Шкала коалиций идёт от прогрессивной коалиции к умеренной. Положение каждой меры, вынесенной на голосование, на шкале определяется только тем, какие отслеживаемые нами организации её поддерживают или выступают против неё, и тем, кто финансирует каждую сторону, по классификации организаций, приведённой ниже. Это не наше мнение о ней.
Для мер штата в бюллетене шкала идёт от Демократической партии Калифорнии и её союзников до Республиканской партии Калифорнии и её союзников, например Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association. Положение определяется так же: только по тому, какие отслеживаемые группы поддерживают или финансируют каждую сторону.
Откуда берутся данные о деньгах
Данные о деньгах кампаний Сан-Франциско берутся из отчётов Комиссии по этике Сан-Франциско на портале DataSF, которые обновляются ежедневно. Данные по мерам штата в бюллетене берутся из отчётов, которые публикует Государственный секретарь Калифорнии (Cal-Access). У каждой суммы указана дата самого свежего учтённого отчёта.
Как мы рассчитываем примеры расходов
Примеры расходов на страницах о мерах в бюллетене, например годовой счёт домовладельца, рассчитываются программой (ai/impact_costs.py) по ставкам и суммам, указанным на каждой странице. Модель ИИ не пишет и не оценивает эти цифры. В каждом примере указаны допущения, например площадь здания и оценочная стоимость, поэтому ваш собственный счёт будет другим.
Как мы переводим
Страницы переводятся на китайский (традиционный и упрощённый), испанский, филиппинский, вьетнамский и русский языки. Термины сверяются с глоссарием Департамента выборов, третья модель делает обратный перевод на английский, чтобы выявить искажения смысла, а там, где Сан-Франциско или штат публикуют официальный перевод вопроса бюллетеня, мы показываем этот текст дословно. Официального перевода на русский язык нет, поэтому русские страницы должны соответствовать самому строгому порогу совпадения переводов.
Почему на каждой странице написано, что она создана ИИ
Эти страницы пишут и проверяют модели ИИ. Мы отмечаем это на каждой странице, чтобы вы всегда знали, и показываем, когда страница проверялась в последний раз.
Исправления и сообщения об ошибках
В каждом разделе есть кнопка «Сообщить об ошибке». Каждое исправление вносится в открытый журнал исправлений с датой и описанием изменения.
